CPD and INSET for teachers
INSET sessions are available for primary and secondary groups of teachers and trainee teachers.
Groups of teachers and trainee teachers are welcome to visit the Abbey on a free guided tour as part of our INSET offer. This ancient and sacred site offers an enriching space in which teachers can extend their own knowledge of their subject, make connections and reflect on the value of time spent outside the classroom.
Our experienced Learning Officers will tailor the guided tour to suit the needs of your group, whether this is a subject specific INSET (such as History, RE or Citizenship) or by offering tips and advice on how to make a site visit memorable and fun for your students.
This visit gives the trainee teachers a much-needed shot in the arm of History!
Booking information
Sessions are bookable in the morning or afternoon, subject to availability. A guided tour lasts approximately 1.5 hours. All INSET visits are free and must be booked in advance. We require a minimum booking number of 10 people.
Should you wish to use our Education Centre for other business before or after your tour, this can be arranged at an additional cost (max 40 people; subject to availability).
