Charles Bonnor

Charles Bonnor, a Queen's Scholar at Westminster School, has a small white marble tablet in the north walk of the cloister at Westminster Abbey. He died of typhoid fever while at the School. He is not however buried in the cloister. The inscription reads: 

Sacred to the memory of Charles Cliffe John Bonnor, a Queen's Scholar of St Peter's College Westminster. Only son of Major Thomas Bonnor, of Her Majesty's Ceylon Rifle Regiment, and Sarah his wife. Born 26th Novr. 1832 Died 13th May 1848 aged 15 years & 6 months. His afflicted father places here this record of the many talents and virtues which for so early an age were very conspicuously developed. "But now he is dead can I bring him back again? I shall go to him but he shall not return to me" 2 Samuel XII.23
