John Latsis
Philanthropist and Sailor
John Latsis, Greek businessman, shipping and oil magnate and banker, was a generous donor to the Westminster Abbey Restoration Appeal. A small stained glass window, designed by Alfred Fisher, can be seen in the Lady Chapel. This includes his name "CAPTAIN JOHN LATSIS" with images of an anchor, waves, a pennant with his initials and a tanker. He was born in 1910 and became one of the richest men in the world and died in 2003.
