The Revd. Waring Willett died on 11th November 1800 and was buried in the west cloister of Westminster Abbey on 16th, aged 62. But he has no memorial or inscribed gravestone.
He sang as a Lay Vicar (bass) in the Abbey choir from 1785-95 and became a Minor Canon of the Abbey from 1796 until his death. He was a son of Francis Willett and was educated at Oxford. From 1783 to his death he was Rector of Stanton Le Hope with Liston in Essex but he had several houses in the Strand and Jermyn Street in London. His wife was Hannah. Their sons Thomas and Waring both attended Westminster School from 1783. Thomas was a King's Scholar and continued his education at both Cambridge and Oxford universities, later becoming a master at Loughborough House school in Surrey. Another son Charles was baptised in 1782 in St Margaret's Westminster. Their daughters were Hannah and Lucinda.
