Tuesday, 7th April 2020
Staging a royal coronation at home, making up a secret sign language and navigation games are amongst the new activities being released online by the Abbey to keep families occupied during isolation. Perfect for primary-aged children they have been designed to spark creativity, ignite imaginations and keep young brains ticking, with little or no materials required.
Led by the Abbey’s Livingstone the Lion cartoon character they feature history and worship packed activities themed by the alphabet with three letters released each week for nine weeks.
This week, activities are A for Abbey, B for Benedictine and C for Coronations. Next week will be D is for Doorway, E is for Edward the Confessor and F is for Faith. Put together by the Abbey’s Learning team, many of whom have children at home, the downloadable worksheets are available on the A to Z activities page. The Abbey is encouraging children and adults to share their experience on Facebook or Twitter using #WAbbeyFun.

We know it’s challenging being at home with young children whilst schools are closed. We hope these activities will provide some fun as well as promoting learning.
