Abbey to close in late April for Coronation preparations

Monarchs have been crowned at Westminster Abbey since 1066, when the Coronation of William the Conqueror took place here. Since then, a further 38 reigning monarchs have been crowned at the Abbey.
To prepare for the Coronation of Their Majesties The King and The Queen Consort on Saturday 6th May the Abbey will be closed to visitors and worshippers from Tuesday 25th April and will re-open on Monday 8th May.
Services will take place in St Margaret's Church up to and including Tuesday 2nd May.
Visitor tickets for May - July can now be booked. Book your ticket to the Abbey.
As demand is likely to be high we recommend booking timed entry tickets in advance to guarantee entry.
