St Margaret's Church hosts Invisible People exhibition

The exhibition by the National Crime Agency highlighted modern slavery and human trafficking through snapshots of life in modern slavery including agriculture, construction, maritime and food processing. The free exhibition is part of the NCA’s campaign to raise public awareness about human slavery and human trafficking. It has visited public spaces in towns and cities around the UK and was open to the public on the Abbey’s North Green on 10th and 11th March.

St Margaret’s Church has a memorial to the slave abolitionist Olaudah Equiano who was baptised in the church in 1759. William Wilberforce, the English politician who headed the parliamentary campaign against the British slave trade for twenty years until the passage of the Slave Trade Act of 1807 is buried in Westminster Abbey.
