Abbey Celebrates Dean’s Ordination Anniversary

A Sung Eucharist to mark the 40th Anniversary of the Ordination to the Priesthood of the Dean of Westminster, the Very Reverend Dr John Hall, was held at Westminster Abbey on Monday 4th July.

The Sermon was given by the Bishop of Norwich, the Right Reverend Graham James.

Caroline Myddleton, a member of the Abbey congregation, read Isaiah 6: 1-8. The Reverend Canon Mark Williams, Vicar, St John the Divine, Kennington, read the Epistle, 2 Corinthians 5: 17-6: 2, and the Right Reverend Lindsay Urwin, Vicar, Christ Church, Brunswick, Australia, read the Gospel, St John: 19-23.

The Prayers of Intercession were led by the Reverend Jane Sinclair, Canon Steward.

The service was sung by the Choir of Westminster conducted by the Organist and Master of the Choristers, James O'Donnell.
