Edward Horton Hubbard
The stained glass window above Geoffrey Chaucer's tomb in Poets' Corner Westminster Abbey is a memorial to Edward Hubbard, Birkenhead-born architectural historian who championed the campaign to restore Liverpool's Albert Dock. This was designed by Graham Jones and unveiled on 7th June 1994 by Jack Hubbard, Edward's father, who donated the window. The design incorporates panels in which memorials to poets can be added. Those so far commemorated are Alexander Pope, Robert Herrick, Oscar Wilde, A.E. Housman, Frances Burney, Christopher Marlowe and Elizabeth Gaskell. The inscription at the base of the window reads:
